Madhav Sehgal

Born and bought up in Delhi, Madhav Sehgal is a teenager full of life and exuberance. The young student has already achieved so many feats that make him a standout. From actively participating in school programs, competitions, summer camps, and blogging, Madhav Sehgal has done it all.

Madhav Sehgal was born on 8th November 2001 and has done his schooling from Lancer’s Convent School. Since the beginning, he has shown tremendous levels of interest in various disciplines, including but not limited to reading, helping the underprivileged, doing theater, and dancing. His passion, discipline, and skill in multiple matters make him an ideal student that every school would like to have on its rolls.

Currently, in his school, he is serving as the Head Boy. Previously, while still in class XI, he was appointed as the Vice-Head Boy. Also, as a Prefect in the past, he has done a remarkable job in his school. What is remarkable is that Madhav Sehgal has participated and excelled in a variety of school assignments and programs and continues to do with the same zeal and discipline. It is worth remembering here that, the teenager has actively taken part in Inter-School Events, Special Assemblies, Sports Day, Inter-House Competitions, Model United Nation Events, prestigious annual ‘Jubilee’ and ‘Exuberance’ events, and Debate and Declamation Competitions. His contribution to each of these events has been noteworthy.

His participation in several summer camps has made him more knowledgeable and practical. These experiences have helped him follow his passion and hobbies closely. One such summer camp he attended recently was the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies from Stanford Summer Institutes. According to Madhav himself, the experience he got in attending this workshop has been brilliant and truly one-of-a-kind. He got an opportunity to interact with students from different ethnicities and cultures. At the same time, he learned a lot about the Theory of Relativity and Astrophysics.

As a young kid, Madhav Sehgal was hooked to dancing. Shiamak Dawar Dance School Summer Camp provided a right opportunity for him to try it out seriously. The fact that he starting dancing since he was 9 years old helped him a lot. The whole experience of being a part of the dance group made him more disciplined and he got a new dimension of learning how to dance.

Barry John Acting School Summer Camp was another learning experience for the young Madhav. Barry John is a well-known name in the world of theater and a chance to be a part of his team enriched Madhav’s experience. Various exercises that were a part of this camp helped him remove stage fear and develop the right amount of confidence. The camp lasted about two months and it was followed by a drama that was executed before the legend himself.

Madhav Sehgal has also been a part of Camel Painting Workshop and the Institute of Creative Excellence Summer Classes on Acting. The young Madhav is immensely proud that he was a part of ICE’s first batch in Delhi. To get such kind of exposure at such a young age is no less than an achievement. It was an experience to remember for Madhav Sehgal for he got a chance to learn with amazing drama teachers of the world.

Writing too has been a passion for Madhav Sehgal . He loves to blog on topics that are of his interests. Also, during his free time, Madhav Sehgal loves to read books. Some of his favorite books include Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur, The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, The Theory of Everything by Stephen W. Hawking, The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, Brief Answers to the Big Questions by Stephen W. Hawking, Hamlet by Shakespeare, Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami, Deception Point by Dan Brown, and the Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy.

Madhav’s interests in movies are also profound. This is evident in the fact that he has a long list of movies that are his favorites. Some of these include Rocky, Avengers: Endgame, Whiplash, The Great Gatsby, Before We Go, Jobs, The Wolf of Wall Street, Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind, Intouchables, and Pulp Fiction.

His love of poetry also does not have bounds. Some of his favorites include Brahma by Ralph Waldo Emerson, The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost, To Autumn by John Keats, Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold, All the World’s a Stage by William Shakespeare, Solitary Reaper by William Wordsworth, If by Rudyard Kipling, and The Day is Done by Henry Wadsworth.

It is not complete talking about Madhav Sehgal without mentioning the welfare works he has been a part of. Much beyond his years, Madhav has indulged in several social initiatives that speak of his maturity and zeal to do something good for the society. He has been a part of Today’s Young Leaders of Rotaract Club and even served the organization in the capacity of Personality Development Leader. As a part of this initiative, he participated in the Blood Donation Camps, Delhi University Cloth Donation Camp, Anti-Begging Drive, World Polio Day Awareness Camp, and Tree Plantation Drive/Eco-Drive. He even helped organize Rotafest – the annual festival of Rotaract Club. Other social initiatives he has been a part of include being a part of food distribution camps, teaching underprivileged children, conducting street plays for creating awareness about the dangers of burning firecrackers in Delhi, organizing camps for checking on ailments like blood sugar, eye problems, and blood pressure, volunteering in blind school, etc.
